Pikes Peak Ascent Certificate
Commemorate your hike up Pike's Peak with this custom souvenir certificate.
Fill in your name as you want it on the certificate along with the date of your hike, the time and traveling companions. We’ll print your information and frame your certificate before sending it to you UPS Ground.
The artwork for each mountain was created specifically for this project so you will be receiving a unique commemoration that is only available as part of our series of 14er certificates.
We print each certificate on acid-free 38lb card stock. We will frame your certificate in a made-in-the-USA frame. Each certificate comes with our Mount Holy Cross foil seal of authenticity.
Pike's Peak quick facts:
- Named after Lieutenant Zebulon Pike, the first American to view the mountain. His expedition attempted, and failed, to climb the peak.
- Summit: 14,115 feet
- Highest mountain in the southern Rocky Mountain front range.
- Other names for the mountain include: Heey-otoyoo meaning Long Mountain in Arapahoe, El Capitan by Spanish Explorers, Highest Peak by Zebulon Pike, James Peak in honor of the first American to summit the mountain, and commonly called Pike's Highest Peak until the name was shortened to Pike's Peak in 1890.
- Pikes Peak is one of two 14er's in Colorado that you can drive to the top of. The other is Mount Evans.
- The trail to the top of the mountain starts in Manitou Springs at the Barr Trail. This trail is 13 miles one-way and involves 7,400 feet of elevation gain.
- Three major events occur on the mountain each year. The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is a timed auto race up the mountain that takes place in June. The Pikes Peak Ascent and Marathon take place on a single weekend in August. Some people do both races! On New Year's Eve, the AdAmAn Club hikes up Pikes Peak and sets off fireworks at midnight.
- Pikes Peak has a restaurant and gift shop at the summit. Try the donuts.
